Referred by CRV - I use Harry Clark Plumbing religiously.  They’re Oakland-based and family owned. They are a large enough business that they can respond to emergencies and such, but the rates are reasonable.  I’ve been satisfied with all of the work they’ve done on my home — from changing out faucets — to a larger repair when my sump pump failed and flooded my basement.  They’ll be replacing my furnace in two weeks — and their estimate was $4,000 less than the next bid.

Comment from A.G. on 10/29/06 - I would not recommend Harry Clark Plumbing.  They’re overpriced and they put in some work for a neighbor that was spewing steam into our windows.  I practically had to threaten them to make them change it.  And they’ll charge you top dollar.  They  should be pulled from the list.

Referred by Kristine on Oct 13, 2007 - He is a Dimond resident (or close by), and he did great work for me. He was also very responsive to short notices, which is important for someone like me. He can do rangehood installation, which is a plus, because normally you would need an HVAC specialist, which could cost you a fortune. He also did a major remodel in his home, so he is very realistic about what it takes to get a job completed. He charges by the hour, which I found to be more beneficial than a lump sum estimate. His work turned out about 50% less than the previous person who bid on some work I needed.

Referred by D. on Scenic Avenue on Aug 30, 2006 - We’ve recently used Rey Lacayo of Lacayo-Colt Plumbing & Heating.  Rey is local to the Dimond area even though his cell phone is the 415 area code. He just finished a full copper repipe of our house, previously worked on our heating ducts, and also installed a water line to our kitchen for a refrigerator ice machine.  Clean, conscientious work.  He’s may seem a little brusque on the phone, but he is a very nice in person and does good work.
