oh, please...
From a SFGate article a few days ago about the armed robbery crime spree happening on Lakeshore in Oakland:
Police Lt. Ed Tracey, who commands the district that includes Lakeshore and Grand avenues told residents that while the Mother’s Day-eve crime spree was carried out by the same assailants, several other groups are looking to target streets with unwary residents and shopkeepers.Police have also identified a troubling new trend: Some of the young suspects are users of the drug ecstasy.
“They have told us in interviews that it gives them a level of bravado they don’t usually have,” Tracey said.
Oh my God! Are we running out of excuses? Creative ideas? Blames? It is obvious Police Lt. Ed Tracey missed out on the 80’s rave scene. Because, if these suspects were on ecstasy, they’d be running around cuddling with their victims while robbing them. (Not that I personally know anything about ecstasy.)
Seriously, there is a reason why they call it “ecstasy” and not “angrily.”

I think that this ecstasy just might be a little bit different than the raver’s extasy from back-in-the-day.
