Moleskine Notebook

Amazon.com
$9.95

There’s a whole cult group addicted to Moleskine notebooks. I’m not an addict to Moleskine, but I’m completely nuts for notebooks in general. $9.95 is a great steal. They’re normally very pricey.

Greek wool Flokati Rug 5x8

Overstock.com
$110

I have two (you can slide them together and they look like one huge rug), and I love them. Dogs love them too, unfortunately. Mine were $250 each. This is a great price.

blue adidas sneakers

addidas.jpg

Such a pretty blue may fool you into thinking it is only good for Summer. Not so, I say. Ice blue, sky blue and most all blues are very Winter as well. Think blue skies over a snowy mountain. Or the color of blue underneath the ice pond. Suede though, is a different story. A bit tough for wet weather. But since we are in California and Indian Summer is going to last another 6 weeks, I went for these. They’re 50% off at $32.50 (orig. $65). What a steal for Adidas shoes! Click here for more info.

headlamps

headlamp.jpgThis is a Burning Man discovery I now can’t live without in my everyday life. Not only helpful for camping, this is now my light source for all night time activities like gardening, dog walking, grilling, or when I need extra light looking under the cabinets for hidden dog bones. (Usually I do have these on when I’m chasing burglars as well.)

This particular model is new from Black Diamond, and I just used it last night. This thing rocks. It projects bright light like a flash light, but best of all, it has a great pivot system that allows you to adjust where the light hits, including straight down at your feet if you wish. (Sadly, we girls do sometimes check out the mud on our shoes, even when we’re camping.) Very light weight for power. And finally, the comfortable wide band prevents that embarrassing ring-around-the-forehead. It’s on sale right now at RedEnvelope.com for $34.99.

them rubber boots

I am the Imelda Marcos of rubber shoes. I can’t control myself. I am obsessed with them. The first time you hose off the yuck from your boots after a long day in the garden (think dogs), you experience this pleasure probably best compared to the first shower after a 3-day camping trip….  I was so, so, so close to clicking that final check out button, then I remember google.

Less than a minute later, I found these at Target.com. I have never shopped Target.com before. Can I tell you how totally stoked I was when 12 different styles of rubber boots showed up? And for $13.99-$19.99? Woo Hoo. Check out the Camou ones. I ordered those. And the black. And another. Yes, that makes three. (In addition to the three I four I already own. Told you I was Imelda of rubber boots. Bet you didn’t take me seriously.)

stopwaste.org composter deals

compost.jpgIf you didn’t receive the compost offering in the mail, you should check stopwaste.org’s website to view the selection of composters on sale for Alameda County residents only. I was going to create my own composter from a plastic garbage can (easy to do), but now I don’t have to. The composter I ordered costs the same, and more importantly, it is much better looking than the home-made version. (Of course looks counts.)

I ordered the Smith & Hawken Biostack for $39. The original price is $139. Now that’s a great discount! It’s for Alameda County residents only, and it is in limited supply. They’ve already sold out of the $19 version.
