poisonous foods for dogs
Well, looks like I’ve been trying to slowly kill my poor dogs. Urgh. I am so frustrated with information I receive… Our breeders tell us to feed our dogs lots of broccoli and apples. It so happens these things are not good for them at all. If you have something different to tell, please do share.
Here are a few bad things you may not know about…

The toxic ingredient in broccoli is isothiocynate. While it may cause stomach upset it probably won’t be very harmful unless the amount fed exceeds 10% of the dogs total dailey diet.
We’ll blame this one on poor Eve. Apples are not good for dogs. The seeds contain cyanogenic glycosides which can result in cyanide poisoning. Seeds from the following fruits can also result in cyanide poisoning: pears, plums, peaches, cherries and apricots.

Good thing my dogs do not like corn on the cob. Many dogs have suffered and, in some cases, died after eating corn-on-the-cob, because the corn cob caused a partial or complete intestinal obstruction. Never allow your dog access to corn cobs.
WATER. So, you got a natural pond or birdbath in your yard? Well, make sure the water is not stagnant. Water in ponds, bogs, small lakes, canals, seasonal creeks and other places where water sets still may contain harmful bacteria (Leptospira interrogans) and parasites such as giardia.
