When I crave BBQ, which is more often than I’d like to admit, I go to Everett & Jones Barbeque on Fruitvale. I particularly like the wonder bread the best (grin) (seriously). Service is pretty slow though, but only annoying if you’re starving. Personally speaking, BBQ in California is not as good as the midwest or south… but I like this place. The one on Fruitvale is better than Berkeley in my opinion. But I’m a bit bias to my hood I guess. More BBQ info than you probably ever need, but check out The History of BBQ by Laura Dove.
